Nearly 300 companies from the Yangtze River Delta region are showing off their agricultural and countryside tourism offerings at Shanghai New International Expo Center.

The exhibition, which opened on Thursday, will last into the weekend. It is divided into an inside 700-square-meter section, where 33 companies have booths, and an outside 2,800-square-meter field for the other 247 companies.

It mainly focuses on six themes — dining, living, transport, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment — and shows the results of agricultural tourism development gained by Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces as well as Shanghai.

The area for Chongming District features about 10 local companies. One farm has introduced a Western style into part of its exhibit to allow local people to enjoy the exotic charm of living in the countryside and participating in family farming activities.

The booth of a cultural village in Chongming has a large, wooden dragon made by a villager using 5,600 pieces of wood. Visitors can also see a traditional wooden loom there.

Besides the common "agri-tainment" items, some fashionable products like yachts, motor homes and new barbecues are displayed at the exhibition as well.
