Shanghai Metro will put extra trains on Lines 11 and 16 on April 29 and 30 to deal with the possibility of increased passenger numbers during the May Day break.

Metro operators will also dispatch extra officers to stations close to tourist attractions and coordinate with the police to ensure the safety of commuters.

One extra Line 11 train will depart from Disney Resort Station at 10:45pm on April 29 and 30. The train will only stop at Sanlin, Xujiahui, Caoyang Road and Nanxiang Stations and won’t be picking up passengers after leaving Disney Resort Station.

The extra service is being added to transport audience members home from the EDC carnival music festival, to be held at Shanghai International Tourism and Resort Zone, which is 2 kilometres east of the Disney Resort.

Another music festival will be held at Dishui Lake on April 29 and 30. Metro operators will add three extra trains starting from Dishui Lake before the last train departs at 10:30pm.

More trains will be added after normal operation times if passenger numbers are still high at 10:30pm.
