Photo exhibition in old villa showcases Yunnan flavor
A photo exhibition displaying the beautiful scenery and colorful ethnic flavor of the Honghe Hani-Yi Autonomous Prefecture opened on Friday inside an old villa on Wukang Road.
The exhibition — Stories Beside Terraced Fields — is part of a series of tourism events on Yunnan Province's Honghe area.
Taking place inside the Wukang Road tourist center, it showcases magnificent primitive forest scenery, the famous Hani Terrace, and rich ethnic customs through more than 40 photographic artworks.
The stories of Honghe are shared and local handicrafts are displayed at the tourist service center. Hani and Yi ethnic performances are also presented.
"The event brings the beauty of Honghe, its hospitable people and unique culture and tradition to Shanghai," said Jin Weihong, director of the Xuhui District Tourism Administration.
Xuhui has connected with Honghe to aid in its development and lift poverty-stricken areas out of poverty. The exhibition will run through May 15 on 393 Wukang Road and is free of charge.
