A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to one year and 10 months behind bars for luring preteen girls into posing indecently in front of camera, according to prosecutors of Hongkou District.

The convict, surnamed Wang, posted fake advertisements on the Internet, claiming he was helping a media company to seek teen stars. Impersonating a woman on the popular instant messaging platform QQ, he told girls to take out their clothes, touch their bodies and perform other indecent acts in front of computer camera in false interviews, prosecutors said.

Police received clues and tracked down his crimes in May, 2017, about one month after he started cheating victims. He was soon caught. From his computer, police seized many indecent photos and video clips featuring several victims aged between 10 and 12.

The victims said they didn’t know it was indecent acts. Wang said he knew it was guilty to spread indecent photos, so he just kept them in his computer. According to the law, he is convicted of molestation as he cheated and lured the victims into molesting their bodies.
