Cross-Strait entrepreneurship competition kicks off
An entrepreneurship competition was launched on Sunday for young people from across the Strait.
The event is the third of its kind organized by the Shanghai Association of Taiwan Investment enterprises, the Shanghai Technology Innovation Center and some other parties.
This year, the event adds Hong Kong to its sub-contest areas to include more people.
Winners of the sub-contests will compete in the final in August at a venue yet to be announced.
The final 20 winners will be granted bonuses ranging from 10,000 (US$1,566) to 200,000 yuan. If the winners register companies in Jinshan, they will receive subsidies ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 yuan.
The previous two events respectively attracted 431 and 475 startup programs in various areas, ranging from health to Internet plus, Internet of Things and cultural creativity. Thirty of the programs so far have settled down in Jinshan.
