Shanghai mayor welcomes World Bank team to do research in the city
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met the data collection team for the Doing Business Report of the World Bank on Monday.
Ying welcomed the team to do research in Shanghai and thanked the World Bank’s long-term support for the city’s efforts in optimizing its business environment. He said the business environment is a city’s important soft power and competitiveness, and the Chinese government has always valued the efforts in building a good business environment.
Under the directions of the central government, Shanghai has been implementing policies to optimize the business environment and to increase the companies’ sense of gain. This is an uphill battle, so the city will strive unfalteringly for the goal.
Shanghai would like to take this opportunity of the meeting with the data collection team to keep improving the city government’s work and building a law-abiding, international and convenient business environment, Ying added.

The representatives hoped Shanghai will continue to improve the business environment for enterprises and companies.
