More than 20,000 people take part in the 2018 Shanghai City Orienteering Challenge.

The 2018 Shanghai City Orienteering Challenge attracted more than 20,000 participants who started their journey from Shanghai Stadium on Saturday morning.

Aged between 8 and 60, the participants were grouped into some 4,000 teams. The event arranged 37 themed routes that covered 15 districts in Shanghai.

Tasks challenging both physical and mental power have been arranged along each route for participants to experience team work while exploring the vitality and beauty of the city. It averagely took four to six hours for a team to complete all the tasks along one selected route.

According to the organizer, nearly half of the task points were newly added this year. Health related tasks have been woven into all the 37 routes this year.

At the Shanghai World Financial Center, participants were challenged with stretching exercise in pairs. At the Shanghai Port Cruise City, challengers were requested to learn from the sailor and make signals with semaphore flags on board.
