A signal glitch hit Metro Line 9 during rush hour on Wednesday, causing delays and stranding a large number of passengers.
The malfunction happened at 7:30am, the Metro operator said on its Weibo account.
Trains ran at a limited speed from Songjiang South Railway Station to Guilin Road Station and restrictions were imposed at stations along Line 9 to control passenger flow.
The problem was fixed around 8:20am and normal order is being slowly restored.
