Outer Ring Road revamp finished ahead of schedule

Traffic is no longer affected on a section of Outer Ring Road near Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport which was under construction since February.

Work on the road surface between Beidi Road and Huqingping viaducts was also completed ahead of schedule, Shanghai Road Administration Bureau said on Wednesday.

Work remains though on ornamental plants and railings, and will be completed by June 30, the bureau said.

In the meantime, no lanes will be affected by construction during the day, but two lanes will be closed from 11pm to 5am.

The project was slated to finish within six and a half months, but this schedule has been cut by one-third.
