New Royal Caribbean cruise liner to call Shanghai home
Shanghai will become the home port of a new luxury cruise liner that will sail from the city in June next year.
The 168,000-ton Spectrum of the Sea from Royal Caribbean International will feature the iconic Sky Pad, a sphere with four bungee trampolines simulating a journey across the center of the earth and taking visitors on an adventure to another planet via virtual reality, the US-based cruise liner giant announced.
The cruise liner, able to accommodate 4,246 guests, boasts the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea where passengers can enjoy bumper cars, roller skating and basketball.
Shanghai will become the home port of a new luxury cruise liner, Spectrum of the Seas, which will sail from the city in June next year.
The cruise liner will dock at Wusong International Cruise Terminal in Baoshan District, one of Asia's busiest cruise ports.
When Spectrum of the Seas debuts in April next year, it will begin a 51-night voyage from Barcelona, Spain to Shanghai, taking vacationers to 13 countries.
Royal Caribbean will deliver a more diversified lineup of cruises in China next year, featuring 27 itineraries to 23 destinations, departing from ports such as Shanghai, Tianjin, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
