Suspect caught after scissors attack on bus

A man who allegedly injured the driver and four passengers on a No. 830 bus with scissors on Friday afternoon was caught immediately, police said.

None of the injured have critical injuries.

Police in Xuhui District said they received a report at 3:53pm about the incident which took place when the bus was passing the crossroads of Tianlin Road and Guilin Road.

The suspect, a 46-year-old man surnamed Zhang from Fujian Province, was caught by patrolling police officers on Tianlin Road two minutes after he fled the scene.

Zhang has allegedly owned up and said he injured the driver and passengers after he had an argument with the driver.

Investigation is still underway.
