The 24th Shanghai TV Festival concluded on Friday night with a star-studded Magnolia awards ceremony at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. 

German series "Babylon Berlin" received the Best Foreign TV Series/Serial award.

The series portrays the city of Berlin in the late 1920s, when crime and political extremism were common to see. 

Spanish series "Cable Girls" won the Best Foreign TV Film/Miniseries award. The series is the story of Spain's National Telephone Company and an era - the 1920s. It is also about the growth of women workers at that time.

Realistic drama "White Deer Plain" snatched the Best Chinese TV Series award. The series' director Liu Jin received the Best Director award and its cinematographer Huang Wei received the Best Cinematography award.

Ma Yili

Shanghai actress Ma Yili was honored the Best Actress for her vivid depiction of an independent divorced woman in "The First Half of My Life."

Ma said that as an actress, she is ready for new challenges.

She also told female audience to live as independently as the character in the series.

Xu Di received the award of Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of a Shanghai aunty in the series. The series' scriptwriter Qin Wen took the Best Screenplay award.

He Bing

The Best Actor award went to He Bing for his acting in "Honest Person."

Yu Hewei was named the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his depiction of warlord Cao Cao in "The Advisors Alliance."

Spanish production "The Asunta's Trial" and American production "No Man's Land" respectively won the Best Documentary Series award and Best Documentary award.

British animated series "Zack & Quack" received the Best Animation award.

"The Nation's Greatest Treasures" and "Everlasting Classics" shared the Best Seasonal Variety Program award.
