New type of health care system set up in Shanghai

Local private hospitals have introduced a new service format that not only provides medical services but also offers complete health care guidance in order to meet the demands of people with higher requirements.
The first such center was established on Thursday to focus on the physical and mental health of people leading busy and stressful lifestyles. The launch of Jiahui Wellness Center kicked off the first such system consisting of an integrated international hospital, family clinic and wellness center in Shanghai.
The system includes a general international hospital with 500 beds, two family clinics, and Jiahui Wellness Center, specifically aimed at supporting those with suboptimal health and those needing long-term rehabilitation after being discharged from hospital.
Ge Feng, CEO of Jiahui Health, said providing health care services should not only be about caring for the sick, but also providing services that promote ongoing health.
At Jiahui Wellness Center, each person can receive individualized courses on sports and nutrition, and psychological guidance in group yoga and fitness classes. They can also learn from nutritionists about healthy diets, and even attend cooking classes to learn how to make healthy food more delicious.
