Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Xu Zhen, chairman of the Global Association of Central Counterparties (CCP12) and chairman of Shanghai Clearing House, and CCP12’s top management on Thursday.

Ying congratulated on the successful annual meeting of CCP12 held in the city and said as China’s economic center, Shanghai is making all-out efforts to build itself into an international economic, financial, trade, and shipping center by 2020, as well as an excellent metropolis, and a city of innovation, culture and ecology.

Finance plays a vital role as Shanghai is trying to improve its urbanization level. The city will promote the e-government service, including better services for professionals in the finance and other industries while further improving the city’s legal and business environment, Ying added.

Also, the city will keep opening up its financial industry. Shanghai welcomes the international financial institutes and the international financial organizations to branch into the city and share business opportunities here.

CCP12 is the first international financial organization to settle in Shanghai and the city hopes it can exert its influence and support the city’s efforts in building itself into an international financial center.

The representatives of the CCP12 said Shanghai is a beautiful city with high level of internationalization. The CCP12 has witnessed the city’s development and will keep supporting the city’s efforts in building itself into an international financial center.
