Sheshan resort kicks off summer carnival season
The Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Songjiang District kicked off a summer carnival season on Friday featuring exotic dances, float parades, plus a music festival, night tour and auto stunt show which will be staged by about 10 tourist attractions in the area.
About 100 performers from Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania will bring exotic cultural performances blending samba and tap dance, electronic music and magic shows at Shanghai Happy Valley which will host a carnival through the season. Float parades will be held at the amusement park every day.

At night, rock bands are ready to bring a summer storm to visitors at the park. The Playa Maya water park will host a party when night falls during the carnival season with rock band performances. Exotic dances will be staged, and visitors are invited to participate in water-sprinkling parties.
Summer camps, painting contests, basketball matches and night tours will be organized at the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, Sheshan Children's Camp and Tianma Country Club, taking children into a magic world of plants.

Shanghai Tianma Circuit will host car stunt performance shows combining automobiles with Peking opera elements. Hotels in Sheshan area will cook up a summer feast for visitors.
The carnival season will run through August 31.
