A summit forum "Quality Upgrading" was held in the city on Friday, gathering government officials, experts and industry insiders to share insights into quality upgrade, quality development along the Belt and Road, and the development trend of testing, inspection and certification industry.

Topics of the forum hosted by Bureau Veritas, an international certification agency, included how to help enterprises go abroad via standard certification, supply-side reform and quality innovation, QUSE (quality, health, safety and environment management system) under the development of Belt and Road Initiative, and digitalization and innovation in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry.

"As the birth place of China's national industry and national brands, Shanghai keeps pursuing excellence in quality development," said Chen Xiaojun, deputy director of the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau.

The city has been graded A for three years in the provincial government quality work evaluation by the State Council.
