A special screening of the epic film “Mao Zedong In Shanghai • 1924” was held on July 1 at Cathay Theater.

The event is a program of the “Red Film” itineraries in the city, which were launched in May to commemorate the development of the Communist Party of China.

The film’s scriptwriter Huang Yazhou attended the screening to share with audiences his experience of film creation. He also told viewers many unknown stories about Mao Zedong.

Film audiences, mainly from the Ruijin Community Center and the neighboring residential communities also visited historical resorts including the former residence of Zhou Enlai and Datong Kindergarten.

So far around 100 theaters and 34 historical resorts around the city have participated in the “Red Film” itineraries. Nearly 100 screenings of movies about the Party and the country have already been offered.
