An exhibition of seal works by university students in China will be launched on January 1 next year at Shanghai Library, one of the event organizers announced on Wednesday.

The event, the first of its kind in China, is expected to find new talents in seal cutting and promote related education in universities.

Organizers are now collecting seal works from college students all around the country, 150 of which will be displayed at the exhibition.

Seal engraving, combining the arts of calligraphy, engraving and literature, has been promoted in schools and universities in China as an outstanding traditional Chinese culture in recent years.
