New visa center launched to boost number of Chinese visitors to Israel
The Israel Visa Application Center opened in Shanghai on July 24 to offer a faster and more efficient application process accommodating the rapidly increasing number of visitors from China.
The center will shorten and simplify the process and allow online payment. Applicants can receive their visas as quickly as the following day when using the express service, making it much easier for those needing to travel urgently.
Zvi Heifetz, Israeli ambassador to China, said his government and the embassy are keen on enhancing bilateral relations. He believed that the new visa center will further boost the rapidly growing number of visitors from China.
Shanghai is Israel’s second visa center after Beijing and will soon be followed by another one in Guangzhou, capital of southern China’s Guangdong Province.
The number of visas issued by the Israeli Consulate General in Shanghai increased by 30 percent in the first six months of this year, compared with the same period in 2017.
