More than 800 agricultural products will be exhibited at an agricultural fair held in the Pudong New Area this week.

The 10th Pudong Agricultural Products Exhibition will be held from Friday to Sunday at Yuanshen Sports Center. Some 100 exhibitors from across the country will offer more than 800 products.

They include Pudong’s signature and seasonal fruits like peach, watermelon, pickles and bean curd under the city’s time-honored brands. There will also be out-of-town specialties such as mango and pineapple from Taiwan, red dates and walnut from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, tea and chicken from Yunnan Province, and Chinese caterpillar fungus and saffron from Tibet Autonomous Region.

Pudong’s agricultural commission said the area's leading agricultural companies will sign contracts with vegetable and fruit bases in remote and poor regions like Xinjiang and Tibet to help local farmers there better sell their specialties.

Also, the commission will form a partnership with Alibaba’s fresh food market Hema to promote local agricultural products to a wider market.
