Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met Darius Adamczyk, CEO of Honeywell, and his delegation on Monday.

Ying said Shanghai is carrying out a new master plan and is working hard to build itself into an international center of economy, finance, trade, shipping, as well as a technology and innovation center and a city of culture.

The city is also building a new advanced industrial system, supported by advanced manufacturing industries, modern service industries, and strategic emerging new industries.

As China’s opening-up and reforms’ testing field, Shanghai’s biggest strength is its openness. Recently, the city has just introduced its “100 measures of further opening-up” to further open up the city’s finance industry, modern service industry and the advanced manufacturing industry.

Honeywell has witnessed China’s opening-up and reforms and the city hopes it can keep exerting its advantages to support the city’s construction and development. The city will align itself with the highest international standards to keep building its international, law-abiding, and convenient business environment and keep providing better services to Honeywell and other market entities, Ying added.

Adamczyk said it has been a long time since Honeywell settled in Shanghai. The company has great faith in the city’s business environment and its effort in protecting intellectual properties.

Also, Honeywell will keep participating in the city’s development, increase research and development investment, and make Shanghai an important hub for the company’s regional businesses, Adamczyk added.
