Yangpu District has launched the city's first entrepreneurship training institute to help local startups better incubate and develop.
College professors, industry leaders and experienced entrepreneurs gave the first lesson at the Shanghai Panta Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute to 150 young entrepreneurs in Yangpu on Thursday.
The non-profit institute covering 5,000 square meters on Daxue Road near the Fudan University was renovated from an old factory. The institute has opened over 30 basic courses covering policy interpretation, company operation, founder and team development. Over 300 startup founders and entrepreneurs based in Yangpu have become the first batch of students. The institute will open to entrepreneurs across the city and the nation in future, according to the Yangpu District government.
"The institute makes up the blank to offer professional trainings to young entrepreneur and helps them to become successful businessmen," said Feng Xiaoyuan, the president of the institute and former vice president of Fudan University. About 30 startup firms or projects will be incubated with the help of mentors at the institute, Feng said.
