Construction projects for import expo in full swing

The Hongqiao Commercial Zone has finished more than 70 percent of its construction works for the China International Import Expo in November.

All the 26 construction tasks are set to be completed by the end of September.

So far more than half of the urban beautification projects in Qingpu District have been finished.

Jiading District has completed all the sidewalk excavation works and new construction programs as well as the greenery on roadside.

Minhang District has started to renovate its roads, improve the greenery and the environment of rivers and creeks. It has opened 25 new roads with only one left under construction.

In Changning District, the walls along both sides of six major roads have been improved.

Earlier this year Changning District cleaned up an abandoned area near Xianxia Road W. which used to be piled up with rubbish. The rubbish has been removed with the illegal structures dismantled. Now the whole area has been planted with greenery.

The extended part of an overpass was under construction in the commercial zone. It is expected to connect the commercial zone with the National Exhibition and Convention Center, which can make it easier for the exhibitors to go to the Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao International Airport.

The main body of the structure is scheduled to be completed by August 25 and the decoration by September 30.
