Ocean park reveals ticket price details
A standard single-day adult ticket at the soon-to-open Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park in the Pudong New Area will cost 330 yuan (US$48.34), while “peak-day” tickets for weekends, July and August, and holiday periods will be 399 yuan, the park operator announced yesterday.
The same prices apply to children above 1.4 meters tall. Children between 1 and 1.4 meters tall, seniors aged 65 or above, and the disabled can enjoy 190-yuan tickets on standard days, and 249-yuan tickets for peak days.
Children at or below 1 meter will be admitted for free.
The park is scheduled to start trial operations in August, and will officially open in late September, operators announced earlier.
Tickets can be booked on the park’s official website, or through its official WeChat platform. Tickets can also be bought on site and through online travel platforms.
The park features a number of themed areas — such as Polar Town, Snow Kingdom and Submarine World. In addition to rides and cinema shows, visitors can observe a variety of marine and aquatic animals, such as penguins, whales, sharks and jellyfish.
The project includes a resort hotel with ocean-creature themed rooms. It expects to receive 3.2 million tourists in its first year, and 5 to 6 million visitors annually in the following years.
