Consuls from Belt and Road countries share tourism resources

A "Belt and Road" cultural and travel forum was held at the Shanghai Book Fair over the weekend with consuls from four Belt and Road countries sharing the beautiful scenery, rich natural and cultural resources of their countries.

Mr. Lakshitha Ratnayake, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Shanghai, mentioned the diversification of Sri Lanka's wild animals at the forum. He said Sri Lanka has more than 6,000 elephants and the largest leopard in the world. 

He also talked about Sri Lanka's black tea culture. About 99 percent of the tea in Sri Lanka is black tea, which brings the country a title "Country of Black Tea." 

The United Arab Emirates has cultural exchange programs with China for years and many UAE young elites come to China to learn Chinese and its culture, said Ms. Faizah Al Blooshi, Consul, Consulate General of UAE in Shanghai. She recommended UAE's local music and dances.

Mr. Ariel Braverman, Deputy Consul General of Israel in Shanghai, said Israel boasts both new things and traditional culture and history.

Mr. Sabri Tunc Angili, Consul General of Turkey in Shanghai, recommended Turkish local food.
