Industrial park project along G60 Corridor

Chinese tech firm Xiaomi Corp will launch an ecological chain industrial park at Shanghai Lingang-Songjiang Sci-tech City along the G60 High-Tech Corridor.

Chinese tech firm Xiaomi Corp will launch an ecological chain industrial park at Shanghai Lingang-Songjiang Sci-tech City along the G60 High-Tech Corridor.

The tech giant has reached an agreement with the Songjiang government and Lingang Group for the ambitious industrial park plan.

G60 is a cross-regional development program agreed between Songjiang District and other eight cities in the Yangtze River Delta area.

Xiaomi’s industrial park on the G60 Corridor is estimated at around 100,000 square meters.

Taking advantage of Xiaomi’s high-end manufacturing resources, the park is expected to become a cluster of innovative companies.

As planned, Xiaomi will settle the East China headquarters of its Millet Ecological Chain and an industrial design institute in the industrial park.

“The newly located Xiaomi companies along the G60 Corridor will become the key carrier for Xiaomi’s innovation industry in Shanghai,” said Chen Rong, director of Songjiang economic committee.

“These companies also contribute to Songjiang’s endeavor to build itself into an Internet-plus-advanced manufacturing industry clustering area and produce famous ‘Shanghai Made’ brands,” he added.

Xiaomi’s industrial park is one of Songjiang’s latest efforts to boost its high-end manufacturing sector via the G60 Corridor program. The program is driving the Yangtze River Delta region toward higher-quality integrative growth, according to a recent conference on synchro-development of the nine areas involved.

The nine G60 areas are Songjiang and Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Jinhua and Huzhou in Zhejiang Province, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, and Xuancheng, Wuhu and Hefei in Anhui Province.

Songjiang has formed several comprehensive industrial clusters relating to fields like industrial smart hardware, new type industrial networks, industrial Internet platforms and security solutions.

In February, Songjiang was approved as the nation’s first new-type industrialization demonstration base in the field of industrial Internet.
