Health care gets ready for Shanghai import expo

Some 300 local hospitals have prepared nearly 400 volunteer services and programs for the China International Import Expo to open on November 6 in Shanghai, local health authorities announced as the countdown runs down to the 50 days prior the event.

Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission said it will carry out training for medical staff on ethics, sign language and English to improve their service and language ability.

Eighteen designated hospitals will offer service for officials and participants in the expo. Staff of the import expo also have launched training and programs for the event, which is expected to draw large number of visitors and guests from home and abroad.

Huashan Hospital has allocated volunteers to help patients streamline their process and Ruijin Hospital can offer English service in all sections in the out-patient department for overseas patients, while language service like Korean, Japanese and French also can be available within half of hour.

Officials from Shanghai Health Supervision Agency have carried out checks in local hotels to ensure service quality and customer safety during the expo.
