The 2018 Rose Wedding held on the Bund
The 2018 Rose Wedding, an annual Shanghai group wedding event, was held on September 20 on the Bund.
A total of 22 newly-wed couples from Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces held a grand wedding ceremony at the Union Church.
Then the couples took a cruise for their honeymoon, witnessed by the city’s government officials, cultural celebrities and their relatives. They also received exquisite calligraphy gifts from local artists.
Held in its 21st year, the Rose Wedding — a cultural brand of Shanghai — has witnessed several hundred couples tie the knot.
According to Cao Zhonghua, an official with Rose Wedding’s organizing committee, this year’s event offered tailor-made services and products with distinct elements of the city to the couples. They hope to attract more newly-weds from neighboring provinces to have weddings and honeymoons in Shanghai.
