First medical history exhibition closed in Shanghai
The nation's first medical exhibition displaying the introduction and development of Western medicine to China was closed over the weekend.
About 15,000 people, mainly hospital staff and medical students, visited the exhibition to learn the medical history and Shanghai's leading position of Western medicine development in the nation.
Shanghai is the origin of China's modern medicine and an important medical center of the nation — there are 12 hospitals with more than 100 years of history in the city, according to Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission.
Most items displayed in the exhibition were from Dr Yang Zhen of Zhongshan Hospital and he also served as a volunteer docent for visitors.
