Didi Chuxing, the biggest ride-hailing company in China which has been under fire after two passengers murdered by ride-sharing hitch drivers, again failed to meet the authorities' demand on overhauling its operations in Shanghai, said the city’s traffic authority over the weekend.

The company submitted heaps of paperwork including information on its cars and drivers as well as other information like its pricing regime. It also claimed that 12,336 unqualified drivers have been weeded out since September 11.

However, the traffic authority said despite the huge quantity of the document, Didi didn't sum up the statistics, nor did the company submit information of the non-local drivers and cars.

Officers drew 95 random samples from the paperwork and cross checked with the information that Didi previously uploaded in the supervisory database ran by the authorities, only one third matched.

Meanwhile, most of the orders done by Didi drivers were not recorded in the database either.

When Didi submitted the document on September 14, it was ordered to come up with a detailed plan and a timetable to sack unqualified drivers by September 17. Yet the company had no such plan prepared until press time.

The traffic authority again demanded Didi to provide a digital copy of the list of the overhaul, with all information of unqualified drivers and cars.
