The Metro Daduhui app and the turnstile that supports mobile payment.
All turnstiles in the city’s Metro stations are now equipped with a QR code scanner to support mobile ticket payment on the Metro Daduhui app two months ahead of schedule, said Shanghai Shentong Metro Group.
When the mobile payment method was introduced in January, there were only two turnstiles in each station that supported it. That figure is now more than 8,000.
By September, the app had been downloaded over 10 million times and more than 4 million people use it at Metro stations every day.
