The new tunnel from Pujian Road to the Century Avenue near the Century Park will be open to traffic from 10pm on Saturday, Pudong police said.
Using this six-lane tunnel, cars from Longyang Road Viaduct can take Yanggao Road instead of the congested Inner Ring Road to Yangpu Bridge, and it’s the same case for cars from Yangpu Bridge to Longyang Road Viaduct.
Police said it’s expected that traffic on both Yanggao Road and the Inner Ring Road will be relieved.
The tunnel bans bikes and e-bikes, police said.
