The Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall is packed with people on Monday, the first day of the National Day holiday. As the holiday coincides with the Shanghai Shopping Festival, stores along Nanjing Road have witnessed a huge increase in the number of customers. According to the official data, since the shopping festival kicked off last Friday, the sales volume of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall has increased 25.9 percent compared with the same period last year, with the customer number up 21.2 percent.
