Forum focuses on local professionals in global companies
A forum focusing on the career development of local young professionals in global companies is to be held in Shanghai on Sunday.
Twenty chief executives from companies with business in China have been invited to talk and take part in roundtables on sourcing and training top local professionals when operating in China.
The forum has been organized by Shanghai Youth League, China International Intellectech Co, a human resources company, and the government of Putuo District where the event will be held.
The executives are from multinationals based in the US, Japan, France, Germany and Switzerland, among others, in the fields of technology, automobiles, finance, medicine, trade and consumer goods.
During the forum, they will attend a closed-door meeting to discuss ways to draw more top professionals to Shanghai and improve the city's business environment, organizers said.
Liu Wei, a vice secretary of Shanghai Youth League, said: “We aim to offer a platform for young professionals to communicate with each other and for Chinese and global companies to share their best practices in human resource development. We also hope to boost the confidence of global companies to do business in Shanghai and China.”
In Shanghai, foreign-invested companies employ one in five employed people and contribute over 30 percent of the government's tax income, Liu said.
The forum will be held at the Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center of International Sourcing.
