A revamp construction to connect dead-end road at the border of Shanghai and Zhejiang Province started on Sunday. This is the first project under construction to revamp dead-end roads at the border of Zhejiang and Shanghai.

The road will connect Zhufeng Expressway in suburban Jinshan District with Yaochang Expressway in Jiashan of Zhejiang, covering 2.24 kilometers.

The new road will be an undivided highway with two traffic lanes for each direction, with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour.

Now, 320 national highway is the major channel connecting Jinshan and Zhejiang. Other than that, there is no other highway connecting Shanghai and Zhejiang in the southwest of Jinshan which made 320 national highway a huge congestion during rush hours and holidays.

The city’s traffic authority said that after the dead-end road finish revamping, the new highway will ease the pressure for 320 national highway and further promote the tourism and economy of Fengjing water town in Jinshan and Jiashan town.
