Malaysia festival to offer some tasty treats
A Malaysia food festival kicked off in Putuo District on Thursday, featuring a variety of local delicacies and snacks.
The Malaysia Street Bazaar, held at Guoman Hotels, invites visitors to taste some iconic Malaysian delicacies like Teh Tarik or "pulled tea," which is a hot milk tea beverage, Nasi Lemak, a fragrant Malay rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf, and Laksa, a spicy noodle soup.
Twelve exhibitors from Malaysia will bring their treats to the festival, and Malay chefs will show the skill of Teh Tarik making on site.
Traditional Malaysian dances will be staged, together with a painting exhibition by a Malaysian artist.
Lucky draws and tourism events will also be held during the festival.
The festival, which runs through November 18, is jointly organized by Tourism Malaysia and Shanghai Spring Tour, which will step up cooperation in the development of Malaysian tours.
