The Yinchuan tourism and culture mart will open at the Shanghai Hongqiao Antique City in Minhang District in December, blending local performances, a stone exhibition and a carving art display, local tourism authorities announced in Shanghai on Thursday for the 2018 China International Travel Mart.

Nearly 100 precious stones, which can only be found in the Gobi desert area in Yinchuan, capital of northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, will be exhibited, together with jade, emerald, agate and amber to showcase the intangible culture heritage along the Silk Road.

During the event, 1.2 million tickets and 50,000 activity coupons covering tourist attractions in Yinchuan as well as skiing, hot springs and red wine experiences will be distributed.

More than 300 tourism souvenirs from Yinchuan, including Chinese wolfberries and cliff paintings, will be displayed as well.

The 2018 China International Travel Mart (CITM), a travel fair, will open on Friday at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area, gathering exhibitors from 107 countries and regions, with more than 2,000 stands.

The event will run between December 21 and 31.
