Shanghai tourism class reaches milestone
The 100th Shanghai Tourism Class, a communication and sharing platform aimed at promoting the construction of "a world famous tourism city" was marked on Tuesday with a lecture and award ceremony.
Zhou Hanmin, a national political adviser and legal expert, delivered a lecture "from 2010 Shanghai World Expo to China International Import Expo" during the class, which was first launched in 2011. More than 160 officials from tourism authorities citywide and representatives from travel agencies were present.
The class creates a studying platform of the city's tourism industry and took participants to venues like museums, cafes and exhibitions to experience the city's tourism glamour spots, said Ding Zhenwen, deputy director of the Shanghai Tourism Administration.
Several classes related with the China International Import Expo were delivered ahead of the event, with training offered on riverfront tours of the Huangpu River, red tourism, agricultural tourism, industrial tourism and cruise tours targeting employees in the city's tourism industry.
During the 100th class, the Shanghai Tourism Administration also awarded staff members with outstanding performances during the expo, and renowned writer Ye Xin was granted honorable professor of the Shanghai Tourism Class.
