Shanghai Party chief pledges strong support for health and cosmetics industries

Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang attended the 2018 Oriental Beauty Valley International Cosmetics Conference and met some of the domestic and foreign guests at the conference on Sunday.

Li said as China’s biggest economic center, Shanghai is the first city that the world’s famous brands will choose when branching into the Chinese markets. Currently, Shanghai is building its brands such as “Shanghai Service,” “Shanghai Manufacturing,” “Shanghai Shopping” and “Shanghai Culture.”

The city is accelerating the process of building itself into an international consumer city and it supports aggregation and development of its health and cosmetics industries. This year, Shanghai has introduced the 100 measures to further open up, which will expand the non-special use cosmetics products into the whole city’s markets and promote and expand the international cosmetics trading platform.

Shanghai hopes that foreign companies operating in the city will increase their investment and choose Shanghai as their launching place of their health products and cosmetics technological research, new products and new brands to share the huge Chinese market dividends.

Shanghai will keep opening up and build the best international market environment, provide better services to various companies operating in the city, and achieve win-win results for the companies in expanding the cooperation and openness, Li added.

The health products and cosmetics organizations and their representatives at the conference from South Korea, Japan, France, the US, and Italy said they have great faith in the Chinese markets’ prosperity, and they will seize the opportunity to expand their operations in China, and launch more new innovative projects and products in Shanghai.

Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
