Amusement park lit up for festival

The Shanghai Happy Valley in Songjiang District was illuminated by tens of thousands of lights and lanterns on Friday night as a magic light festival will run through February 24 at the amusement park.
The festival is comprised of six exhibition areas, featuring scenes of Chinatown, an ocean world, starry sky, and immortals of fu, lu, shou, literally meaning happiness, fortune and longevity.
A variety of fun events including the Christmas market, carnivals and performances will be staged at the amusement park during the festival, said OCT Group, operator of the amusement park.
The Christmas bazaar will run between December 22 and January 1 with delicacies and various gifts available, while rock band performances, magic shows, Christmas lighting ceremonies, parades and interactive comic performances will also be part of the festival.
