Smog returns as temperatures drop
Smoggy days will be back this week after we breathed clean air for a while with the highest temperature warming up to 15 degrees Celsius, weathermen said.
Sunny skies will accompany us through Tuesday, along with light to moderately polluted air. After that, the rain will return and last through the weekend.
Yesterday, the air was marked moderately polluted with the AQI at 159.
According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, light smog is expected today with the low dropping to 3 degrees downtown and 0 to 2 degrees in the outskirts. The mercury will rise to a high of 12 degrees during the daytime.
Tuesday will be more of the same except for some suburban areas which may see lows plunge below freezing point with highs up a bit to 15 degrees.
Drizzle will be seen at times on Wednesday and then it will rain more often.
Skies will be mainly overcast on Thursday and Friday with some showers.
