Dazhong launches luxurious limo fleet

A fleet of 50 Mercedes-Benz limos rolled into town on Tuesday, forming Dazhong Chuxing’s premier online ride-hailing service.

The flag-fall fare for the limos is 108 yuan (US$15.6), and 5.5 yuan per kilometer thereafter. The E200L limos are equipped with free Wi-Fi, drinking water and umbrellas.

“All the drivers are Shanghai residents with excellent records earned driving guests at the World Expo and the recent China International Import Expo,” said Yang Guoping, president of Dazhong Chuxing.

Despite fierce competition among online ride-hailing platforms, Dazhong is confident of distinguishing itself with the luxury service.

This is not the first time Dazhong has used limos. In 2004, the company introduced a fleet of luxury Mercedes taxis.
