Ex-airport boss on corruption charges

Wu Jianrong, former deputy Party secretary and chairman of Shanghai Airport Authority, has been charged with taking bribes and hiding assets in off-shore accounts, the No. 1 Branch of Shanghai People’s Procuratorate said yesterday.

The indictment reads that from 2006 to 2017, Wu used his positions as deputy secretary of Shanghai CPC financial work commission, deputy secretary-general of Shanghai government, and deputy Party secretary and chairman of Shanghai Airport Authority to seek benefits for others, and accepted huge amounts of money.

Wu was also charged with concealing a large amount of overseas deposits.
