The last snow of 2018 swept the city Sunday afternoon.

The lowest temperature stayed around the freezing point in most districts Sunday morning, said local weather bureau. The lowest reading was recorded as minus 1.1 degrees Celsius in Chongming District. 

The sleety weather is expected to leave Monday noon with the return of overcast to cloudy skies. The low is set to be 1 degree and the high 6 degrees.

On the New Year's day it will mainly be cloudy and a bit warmer with the mercury ranging from 3 to 7 degrees.

The cloudy skies will remain on Wednesday and Thursday with the temperatures fluctuating between 2 and 9 degrees.

Starting Friday the warmup trend will continue with some rainy days ahead.
