Coach tickets on sale for Spring Festival travel rush
Passengers can book for Spring Festival coach tickets to 18 provinces from Friday.
Shanghai long-distance bus terminal in Jing’an District will open as many as 28 ticket windows and 20 machines for chunyun (Spring Festival travel peak) bookings.
Passengers can also purchase tickets online via the terminal’s own app, or its WeChat and Alipay accounts.
There will be 10 more trains on the new high-speed line from Shanghai to Huangshan in Anhui Province from January 5. Trains will stop at tourist attractions like Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang Province and Yellow Mountain, previously out of reach to high-speed trains.
The journey time from Shanghai to Huangshan has been be reduced to about two and a half hours from more than four. High-speed trains started running to Huangshan on December 25, but only two per day.
Another line from Shanghai to Huai’an in Anhui will open on January 6, departing Shanghai at 8:14 pm and arriving at Huai’an at 7:42am the next day.
