Three temporary trains going to Chengdu and Guiyang in southwestern China’s Sichuan and Guizhou provinces will be added from January 17, four days ahead of the Spring Festival travel rush, said Shanghai Railway Station.

The first temporary train will leave town at 8:55pm on January 17 from Shanghai Railway Station.

Shanghai railway authorities advise university students to get to the train stations early as they have to get their concessional tickets from the machines.

More temporary trains will be added during the travel rush according to the demand, the railway station added.

The travel rush lasts 40 days.
