Metro, buses added for travel peak

Extra trains will be added to Metro Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 from February 9 to 19 for passengers returning after the break. Shanghai Shentong Metro Group is expecting 9.6 million people to take the Metro every day before Spring Festival. From February 9, the number may exceed 10 million.

Some stations like Yuyuan and Longhua stations near Yuyuan Garden and Longhua Temple will have extra staff to maintain order. Some exits of the two stations may be closed.

Temporary Spring Festival special bus lines will be added on February 10-12 and 20-22, connecting the Hongqiao transportation hub with Fengxian, Jiading, Jinshan, Minhang, Qingpu and Songjiang districts. These buses will depart the transportation hub every 15 to 30 minutes until midnight.
