Baoshan promotes products in Shanghai
Baoshan City in southwest China’s Yunnan Province has geared up cooperation with Shanghai over agriculture with the city government promoting products including coffee, tea and walnuts at an event on Monday.
The city's vice mayor, Du Chunqiang, said: "Baoshan is an important production base of sugar, fruits and vegetables, livestock, coffee and tea leaf in China."
The city boasts an annual vegetable production of 900,000 tons and 130,000 tons of fruits. Its tea leaf production is an annual 55,000 tons, and coffee 30,000 tons.
Agreements were signed between Baoshan's agricultural product providers and the Shanghai Modern Agricultural Products Exchange Center and Shanghai companies.
A unified Baoshan agricultural product brand was released during the event with a logo featuring the Chinese character and pattern of Bao and Shan and seven colors representing different fruits and vegetables and ethnic minorities in the city.
Government officials, experts and industry insiders shared their insights as how to promote the city's agricultural products in first-tier cities such as Shanghai during the event.
