Primary school teacher jailed for molesting student
A primary school teacher who molested a 10-year-old girl in class was sentenced to six years in jail and banned from working with minors for four years after being released, prosecutors in Jiading said on Monday.
According to the Jiading District People's Procuratorate, the man, surnamed He, asked a 10-year-old girl student to transcribe his annual work report for him on the lectern at a music class on April 26 last year. He then put his hand inside her clothing and pants and molested her.
The girl later told her classmate, who then reported it to the girl's father. Police were soon notified and the teacher was taken into custody on accusation of molesting a child.
He displayed a "bad attitude" toward judicial workers and denied the charge.
Jiading prosecutors charged him on January 3 and suggested the court give He a heavy punishment as well as prohibiting him from working with minors for three to five years.
With enough evidence, the court gave He a jail term of six years, after which he will not be allowed to work with minors for four years.
