Half Marathon in Songjiang next month
The 2019 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon will be held on March 17.
The 2019 G60 Shanghai Sheshan Half Marathon will be held on March 17, organizers announced on Monday.
Organized by the Chinese Athletic Association, Songjiang District and Shanghai Sports Federation, the event will feature a total of 10,000 runners. Both men's and women's races will start and finish at Happy Valley amusement park.
The 21-kilometer route will pass Cheshan Botanical Garden, Sheshan National Forest Park and Yuehu Sculpture Park.
Runners will be entitled to discounts at eight Songjiang tourist spots from March 15 to 17.
Those interested can log onto www.sj-marathon.com to register. Quotas will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration is 150 yuan (US$22) per person. Organizers have set aside 100 charity places, each costing 300 yuan, to be donated to a charitable foundation.
The event promotes the G60 scientific corridor proposed by Songjiang in 2016, involving eight cities along the G60 Expressway: Hangzhou, Hefei, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Suzhou, Wuhu and Xuancheng.
The 21-kilometer route will pass many landmarks in Songjiang.
